I was wondering if anyone knows of any Harry Potter gen-fic comunities, or ones for werewolves other than Lupin. I'd also like to find out if there are any for Death Eaters in general, as opposed to character-centric ones, like the Severus or Malfoy family oriented ones.
There were tons of them on LiveJournal, but I'm not finding them here, and that makes me sad. ( hpdesmutathon is a fest community, not for the posting of fic-in-general.)

Potterverse Fic -- Deck the Halls
Here's the last serving of "pease porridge" (9 months old), fourth of the stand-alone vignettes from "Contingencies", originally published on LiveJournal on December 24, 2006. Author notes slightly changed from the LJ original. Not terribly seasonal at the present moment, but given that stores are already putting out Christmas gear by me, perhaps not that far off the mark in the greater scheme of things.
Title: Deck the Halls Author: Persephone Yavanna the Entwife Pairing/Characters: Draco, Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy Wordcount: 5,016 Rating: G for gen (in other words, completely work-safe!) Warnings: None Disclaimer: JK Rowling and assorted others have rights to create derivative works within the Potterverse, but I am not one of those licensees, unfortunately. Rather not be sued for playing with the characters, though . . . not making a profit here, just exploring the characters and situations created by the esteemed Ms. Rowling. Summary: The Malfoys decorate for the holidays Author Notes: This holiday-themed piece was inspired by the PotterPuff picture above. Takes place after Fatherly Advice. ( Deck the Halls )

Potterverse Fic -- Fatherly Advice
Another serving of "pease porridge" here, third of the stand-alone vignettes from "Contingencies", originally published on LiveJournal on December 20, 2006. Author notes slightly changed from the LJ original.
Title: Fatherly Advice Author: Persephone Yavanna the Entwife Pairing/Characters: Lucius and Abraxas Malfoy Wordcount: 1,134 Rating: G for gen (in other words, completely work-safe!) Warnings: None Disclaimer: JK Rowling and assorted others have rights to create derivative works within the Potterverse, but I am not one of those licensees, unfortunately. Rather not be sued for playing with the characters, though . . . not making a profit here, just exploring the characters and situations created by the esteemed Ms. Rowling. Summary: Lucius has a chat with his father Author Notes: This story is dedicated to my father, as it was written on the tenth anniversary of his death. Unfortunately, his portrait does not speak.

Potterverse Fic -- Academic Jeopardy
As mentioned a few days ago, here is another of the stand-alone vignettes from "Contingencies", originally published on LiveJournal on December 8, 2006. Author note is unchanged, since it is still apropos.
Title: Academic Jeopardy Author: Persephone Yavanna the Entwife Pairing/Characters: Severus, Mr. Crabbe and Mr. Goyle Wordcount: 2,580 Rating: G for gen (in other words, completely work-safe!) Warnings: None Disclaimer: JK Rowling and assorted others have rights to create derivative works within the Potterverse, but I am not one of those licensees, unfortunately. Rather not be sued for playing with the characters, though . . . not making a profit here, just exploring the characters and situations created by the esteemed Ms. Rowling. Summary: Death Eater parent-teacher conferences Author Notes: First time writing fanfiction, Potterverse or otherwise. This is the second of the stand-alone vignettes from my NaNoWriMo 2006 project to be "published" on LiveJournal.

Potterverse Fic -- Whisky and Minerva
As threatened promised yesterday, here is the first helping of "pease porridge" -- one of the stand-alone vignettes from my NaNoWriMo 2006 writing project, now referred to as "Contingencies", and my first-ever attempt at writing Potterverse fanfiction -- or any type of fanfiction, for that matter. It was originally published on LiveJournal on December 5, 2006 -- the author note is the same one I used there, since it's still appropriate.
Title: Whisky and Minerva Author: Persephone Yavanna the Entwife Pairing/Characters: Severus and Minerva Wordcount: 650 Rating: G for gen (in other words, completely work-safe!) Warnings: None, unless one hates cats Disclaimer: JK Rowling and assorted others have rights to create derivative works within the Potterverse, but I am not one of those licensees, unfortunately. Rather not be sued for playing with the characters, though . . . not making a profit here, just exploring the characters and situations created by the esteemed Ms. Rowling. Summary: Severus loathed shortbread, porridge and all things Scottish -- except whisky. And Minerva. Author Notes: First time writing fanfiction, Potterverse or otherwise. This is the first of the stand-alone vignettes from my NaNoWriMo 2006 project to be "published" on LiveJournal.

Pease porridge on the menu here
Pease porridge hot, Pease porridge cold, Pease porridge in the pot, Nine days old; Some like it hot, Some like it cold, Some like it in the pot, Nine days old.I've decided to repost the fics I had originally on LJ here before putting up newer work, so you may see a few things you've read before. Although since they were posted originally in December of 2006, it's quite possible that you might have missed them, with the holidays and all the holiday fests going on then. (There are also folks on my flist here at IJ who weren't over at LJ, so these may be new to you as well.) They are all from a current WIP titled "Contingencies" (after the plot-mainspring fic that hasn't been finished yet) and are presented as fics that can stand alone if need be, but should be read in order, since they make up a larger story arc. There will be more stories set in the "Contingencies" universe (which at this point is very canon-compliant), but they may not necessarily be posted in story-order. There will also be stories posted here in another series (yet to be named) wherein Harry is raised by the Malfoy family -- with Severus' assistance. So AU will be showing up as well. ~~ hopes folks don't mind having leftovers while the kitchen is busy preparing future meals ~~

Welcome to my Insane Journal!
Welcome to my new journal, where I will be posting fanfiction I've written, as well as links to any fandom-related essays I have written in my LiveJournal, where some of these stories have shown up before. Because of the current LiveJournal policies, I've decided to post my scribblings here and only use links from my LiveJournal to the actual stories hosted here on InsaneJournal.
I opened up this account a few weeks back, when LiveJournal management showed poor judgement once again and made it quite clear that certain content of a fannish nature was no longer welcome on their servers. I haven't created content myself of that nature in the past, but I disliked the stifling atmosphere these corporate decisions engendered. I therefore decided to join the mass exodus of fandom here to the livelier (if more orange) shores of InsaneJournal, since I had little desire to see all four of my LiveJournals (including the permanent one) zapped by The Powers That Be because some idiot decides that writing a story about 18+ Hermione is a problem because in part of the Harry Potter series she is under 18. (For those who are unaware, LiveJournal staff decided for themselves that the characters were underage, despite creators' statements that the characters were adults in the pieces in question, and killed all LiveJournals those users had, including permanent ones -- even the G-rated cooking journals were deemed too risque for LiveJournal to continue to host them. Perhaps they found the food porn too arousing there? Ooooooo -- the erotic possibilities inherent in moussaka!!!! Especially when slathered in rich, creamy bechemel . . . )
I've been fiddling with settings and uploading a few userpics, although not as many as I could, since I bought a permanent account when I signed up here. (I'd like to think this site will stay around for a while and given the number of years I've had writings up on the web, I'm sure I will be posting here for quite a bit of time, so it seemed a good bargain.) I still don't have things the way I'd like, but at least it's GREEN now, not orange and gray. :P
I'll still be tweaking the look-and-feel of this journal for a while, but for now, it's . . . adequate . . .
As for things to expect to see here, well -- there will be ficcage and goodly amounts of it too. And there will be Potterverse ficcies in both canon-compliant as well as AU varieties, althought I reserve the right at some future time to include other fandoms. Expect to see a lot of Slytherins and Death Eaters about and be prepared to see alternate views of them, since I believe that even the most black-hearted villain is still a person. To quote an old Sting song, "Even Russians love their children too."
So don't expect Harry-centric stories here, or ones from his point of view or with his attitudes. They might pop up from time to time, but I freely admit to not being a fan of Rowling's Harry as a character -- frankly, I don't think he's all that nice, not after the first book or so.
I also tend to write gen and G rated stories, so if you're just here looking for naughty bits, well I'm afraid you might be rather disappointed. I do write more adult fare occasionally, when I feel the story warrants it, but it isn't the focus of my writing. There will be some, but not as public posts, so if you absolutely must read it, I direct you to this post, where you may leave a comment stating that you are over 18 and wish to read my stories, even the non-worksafe ones, and I shall add you to the list of readers with access to those tales.
